Vocational Training for Community Members
Pragroshor introduced vocational training among their primary group members with the support of MJF. Pragroshor has been working in two slums where the women are living in an unhealthy situation. They do not have income, skills, or education to earn to maintain their livelihood. Therefore, Pragroshor has taken the initiatives to provide them practical skill training to the community women. These trainings are not top down rather before selecting the participants Pragroshor conduct every time so get their need. However, so far Pragroshor through the Jukto Hou Mukto Hou (JHMH) project, organizes Vocational Trainings for women survivors. The mission is to provide self-supporting knowledge to the survivors so that they can live their life with dignity also to make them confident. To encourage the craft centric training and to develop the ability to earn a living in the students, so that they can discharge their family obligations as well. We have successfully completed some of the training such as: Computer training on Graphics design (4), Hand Sewing (20), Tailoring (18), Beautification (10), Baking (13) and Block-Batik (57), Basic Computer Training (18), Baking (23). However, being a Feminist organisation, we are motivating the group members so that they could think about to learn nontraditional skills as well like computer, driving etc. Moreover, Vocational Education is the new demand of modern era. Generally connecting education with business is called is called vocational education. Based on this spirit, Pragroshor through the JHMH project, is going to organize vocational Trainings for selective community members. In order to ensure a high level of service and also to develop the capacity of the beneficiary’s community, the project will ensure an appropriate and well-developed training programme on vocational skill. Till now around 163 community women and girls receives different trainings under vocational training.
